Semester Goals

I feel this semester is crucial to me in many ways.  I am at the point where I need to move ahead with my dissertation proposal as well as my research.  I now understand my ideas better and am ready to take the next step!

My goals for this semester:
1.  Complete, present, and "pass" my dissertation proposal.
2.  Complete IRB and submit.
3.  Take comps over holiday break.
4.  Sign on a 4th committee member! (URI suggestions?)

I am confident this class will help me attain some, if not all, of my semester goals.  I look forward to working, brainstorming, and just talking with the class about our various ideas.  Actually, I view this as more than a class but rather as a critical friends network.

Carey,
I am also looking forward to sharing ideas and resources this semester. Your goals seem attainable and I wish you luck.

Carey,
I agree with your view of this experience as more of a critical friends network than a class. I am also looking forward to interacting with more people in the program, not just those in my cohort or seminar.

Your goals are definetly attainable. Our goals are so similar in so many ways. We know what we want to and need to do, we just need to do it. I think the "critical friends network" will help get us to our next steps.

Carey,
You sound like to have 4 "S.M.A.R.T." goals. What stands out for me is that you have clearly stated your goals and they are attainable. I am afraid that I am still all over the place with my thinking.
All the best,
Renee
